A Damsel in This Dress. 2 Faces of Winter: Polaris

This is the 2nd area of the task 2 Faces of Winter, and whereas the very first one, Desolation, ended up being exactly about the bleakness for the period, that one, Polaris, was to be exactly about the glow for the freshly fallen snow, peaceful, fluffy and cold, reflected either in the poor sunlight, or, better yet, within the cool moonlight on a starry evening. Backlink to my motivation board right right here

I experienced a dress, all in feathers, and a coat that is bridal our Winter Bride collection lat year – but needed a suitable wintery corset and headdress to choose them.

When the base had been ready ( white cotton sateen, internal boning, bound in silver), it had been time and energy to begin regarding the decoration…

    Tinkering with various textures

    Layering the bling…

The headdress ended up being the next thing – and since the layer appears a little Russian I decided to buy the conventional Russian headdress called kokoshnik tiara.

First – the bottom, trying out the design

Whenever I had been pleased with the design, i stabilized it, included attachment points and covered everything in white linen first, then silk. The beds base had been trimmed with marabou feathers, and silvery ferns that are white arranged at the top. Then simply added bling, as well as the strings of pearls…

Every thing ended up being prepared, but we had a small issue… no snowfall in England. None forecast either for the following couple of weeks, plus it had been the termination of January… Whenever we wanted snowfall we either had to think away from field – or travel.

Luckily my moms and dads are now living in Oslo – and snowfall can there be aplenty. After having a fast glance at spending plan air companies and timing, we had been scheduled in the journey to Norway. A brief journey, 2 times, should always senior blackpeoplemeet login be sufficient to do a shoot, meet up with my people and perhaps do a little skiing!

We arrived on Saturday afternoon together with a wait that is brief my moms and dads who have been away during the language school, learning Norwegian. We tried it constructively – bought gloves, cap, and started building a sledge out from the snowfall. When you look at the we just managed to catch enough light to shoot one part of the Polaris the results below afternoon…

For anyone wondering exactly exactly exactly what footwear had been used, wonder no longer….

The clear answer is – reasonable footwear. ??

The morning that is next a modification of weather – thaw: -( it had been raining a little and all sorts of the snowfall had been gone through the woods, but there is still adequate to snatch some appropriate images within the daylight.

Dusk norwegian daylight is sort of more of a UK…

While the working task done, we’re able to flake out. Alas, because of the climate, no skiing for people – but luckily sledges remained game! We hired sledges towards the top of among the hills – the route winds down for around 2.5km and concludes at a stop. Extremely convenient, whilst the train holds you all of the way up – to your start regarding the sleigh route! It was great enjoyable despite the drizzle and dense fog: -) a few pictures below: -)

After several hours of sledging fun, damp and achy ( the route has lots of moguls throwing your sledges to the air – and often you land okay in the sledges, often you don’t… impressive bruises had been gained thus…) we got hot and soothed copious amounts to our pains of tea and dessert into the regional restaurant: -)

    The restaurant… very cool

    The inner design didn’t disappoint…

    Neither did the cake…

Next it was time to get back home – tired, bruised, but happy with the pictures morning! ??

Thank you to my moms and dads for placing us up for the weekend: -)

Hope you enjoyed them too – all costume pictures by Pitcheresque Imagery, clothing by Prior Attire.
